I believe that if you show passion in your beliefs, positive outcomes will arise. After my adamant requests to the Director of the Disney College Program Housing about making composting available to the students, I was granted the opportunity to present my ideas about environmentally sustainable changes to the Housing complexes. I prepared a Prezi presentation (link found below) and the board took such a liking to my passion that they invited me to join the Disney Housing’s Environmentality Team as the College Program student representative.
The most important thing I learned from this experience is that it is okay to refuse ‘no’ as an answer. My initial request from the Director was denied, but I truly believe that environmentally sustainable living makes an incredibly huge impact and that perseverance to keep asking and trying to make a change paid off in the end.
